AKC Canine Good Citizen Test
The AKC Canine Good Citizen Test is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community.
The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and good manners for dogs.
All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
The AKC CGC shows the manners and partnership between the owner and dog. Handlers are allowed to praise and encourage their dog as well as give commands.
Who: All Breeds AND Mixed Breed Dogs Are Eligible For CGC
All Dogs 6 months and Older. Must have a current Rabies Vaccination Certificate. All Breeds are welcome.
What Is CGC?:
The CGC test is comprised of 10 individual tests.
All participants must sign the AKC CGC Responsible Dog Owner’s Pledge prior to participating in the test.
Equipment For the CGC Test:
4 Items. Either a Buckle Collar (No Plastic Buckles/Snaps) or a Metal Slip Collar (Choke Chain). 6 foot leash. Grooming Brush. Current Vaccination Report. (Must have all 4 Items present at time of testing).
